Victor, the MSP IT lead for a multi-site real estate group, came to us with a deadline problem. Three bridged 3CX systems were about to fall off a licensing cliff, and the estate was still on version 18 while version 20 was waiting.
What we were working with
Three bridged 3CX PBXs running on Windows Hyper-V, each behind its own edge firewall, across separate sites. One of those firewalls had a fault that had never been properly traced.
How we ran it
- Beat the clock. Licenses renewed with twenty minutes to spare before the deadline.
- Build the safety net. Hyper-V snapshots, full backups and a rollback path that could put everything back in fifteen minutes.
- Orchestrate the upgrade. All three PBXs taken to version 20 in one window, starting at 7:00pm ET.
- Fix the phantom. The intermittent firewall fault found and finished, with the 3CX Firewall Checker passing at all three sites.
- Hand it back properly. Debrief, documentation and updated diagrams so the in-house team owns it going forward.
Where it landed
About five hours of hands-on work, entirely outside business hours, with zero disruption to the business. Three bridged systems synchronised on version 20, firewall checks green across the board, and the licensing deadline met.
“A dropped call during a bidding war can cost thousands. We were on the edge.”
“AtoZinIT renewed our expiring 3CX licenses in minutes and upgraded three bridged systems to v20 the next night. Flawless.”
